Liz’s Garden
Our garden, situated on top of a very exposed hill, was part of the nursery production beds in the year 2000. As soon as we started to build the house, my 2 year old daughter and I planted hedges to divide up the space and shelter our new planting from the prevailing south westerly winds. The early years were soul destroying as the garden had no form until the hedges matured and equally quickly the nursery developed around us with barns, offices and irrigation tanks filling the view. Now the garden is a peaceful series of garden rooms, colourful herbaceous borders, a very productive potager and lots of wild corners. We maintain our one acre plot in 4 hours per week so do not look too closely! It has taken 10 years but now looks like it has been there forever and we love it.
