Introducing FCF
Nicholsons, through the newly formed Forest Canopy Foundation (FCF), are pioneering a scheme bringing together forestry companies across the country, with one clear focus: increasing woodland creation at scale across England.
Aim: To plant well-planned, quality woodlands in England to mitigate climate change and add natural capital to our national resource.
Trees are recognised to be invaluable for carbon sequestration and natural capital gain. The Government have committed to planting 30,000 ha of woodland in this term of office, but without robust cooperation and collaboration, we will fail to deliver as a nation.
Mindful of the urgent need for an effective Green Recovery, The Forest Canopy Foundation (FCF) has recruited the private forestry sector to help plant 30,000 ha of woodlands (at scale) across England in the next five years. Sites will be carefully chosen to optimise ecological and environmental benefits and this opportunity will result in over 9 million tonnes of carbon being sequestered from the atmosphere over the next 50 years. We are looking for corporate partners who wish to invest in carbon, offset carbon, or simply invest in environmental schemes under their ESG aims.
The time to act is now.
